I bet some of you have tried out many different versions over the years, what should I install just to use with Mixdeck?
I did an install of 1.7 on a new user to be safe (clean slate, had a version of serato installed in the past, not sure which) and had hick ups right await. WIth 1.7, I have CPU usage issues when both decks play, drops every minute.
I'm considering even 1.3 at this point, or if I heard good things I'd try latest 1.5 version
I'm good to try Scratch live 2.5 or itch 2.2.2 instead since my computer is so ancient.

SSD 480 gig
2.4 Ghz Core 2 duo
8 GB RAM
(it's 64 bit)
I have about 100 gigs of music…even with no music loaded in serato crates, cpu usage past mid without decks running.
I've tried both usb ports, tried lowering buffer…still issues with 1.7. Don't think it's a usb connection issue, though I've not tried another cord, just both usb ports with same issue so assuming it's software now. My free trial is up, trying to decide what to try.
I'm not interested in Mavericks or any other OS right now, just want a recommendation for a stable (even if unsupported) version to use for a friend's house party.
